Hi Alec, yes checked with dwell meter all items fitted have been checked and all items replaced for a second time off a good running car. I must be missing something somewhere.....

Have you checked the security & condition of the engine earths? Perhaps a clean up & re-securing might be in order.

All the earths have been checked and cleaned Ian, even put jump leads on direct to the block as well.

Hi gents, finally found the problem. when go 12volt with an inline ballast, you must remove the wire from the starter and replace it with another direct to the the coil... it then gives a spark when cranking.. Totally stupid idea!!
Bad running was down to weak mixture on back carb and running without the airbox. :( My Dolly will run happily without when needed.

Have you tried yours with and without airbox? mine ran terrible without.

Yes apparently they are un-drivable without. My issue is lack of top end speed. I am fairly sure i have an autobox issue so is booked in for a complete overhaul soon.
