I may be setting the cat amongst the pigeons. I was wondering if anyone has ever painted their engine after a rebuild in anything other than black. I did have a car with a pale green engine many years ago.
I was considering Cadilac dark blue or Land rover duck egg blue, just to be different.
Any thoughts.

Re: What colour
I'd stick with the original satin black, but that's just my thoughts.
the various colours remind me of the days when you got a gold seal replacement engine for BL cars that was painted - guess - gold! Looked terrible and was obvious to anyone that it had had a new engine.
In the garage I have a late 2000 MK1 MC engine that has a label stating it has been overhauled by someone at Perkins - it is painted in a metallic mid green, similar to Hammerite- again it looks terrible!
At car shows, you often see many Austin / Morris engines that have been painted a mid gloss green - many engines were that colour 60 years or so ago, but anything other than the correct black, in my opinion, wouldn't look right in a Triumph....
Originality for me Chris!

Re: What colour
Chris have you thought about matching it to the body colour. It’s damson isn’t it? It’s quite a dark red so would look quite subtle, besides once all the gubbins are in you don’t see a lot anyway on the pi.
It’s big decision! There’s no unnecessary keyboard wear in discussing it.
I’m painting the engine cactus green for the mk1 2000, lairy oh yeah, but it Is going to be a chopped custom pickup (long term project).
