Your reference to a double row of vane chambers - is that actually what the improved pumps have? 6 vanes arranged in two separate staggered banks of 3 perhaps?

I still don't see how the same swept volume at the same rotation speed can shift any more water.
The only way of increasing the water flow would be to have a deeper pump projecting further from the front of the engine, or to fit a smaller pulley so that it turns faster.
Yes, I totally agree. The output openings may have been enlarged or cog teeth ratio changed. I don't have the knowledge, with regard to the Stag/1850, if they opened-out the cast drillings or changed speed. Otherwise I don't see how a liquid capacity is being increased in volume or through increased speed..........sigh!
