Engine Serial Number Suffix

#1 Post by Richard71 » Mon Jun 11, 2018 4:41 pm

Hello All,

I'm an intruder from the TR brigade who has just received a 2.5Pi engine block as part of a job lot of triumph TR spares.

The engine serial number is MG7****HEBW, I'm aware that the suffix "HE" is for high compression but I cant seem to find any information on what the "BW" denotes.
Can any of you shine any light on this one for me?

Many thanks for reading,
Regards,
Richard.

MG denotes a PI engine. The HEBW means the original car had a Borg Warner auto gearbox and this is a High Compression engine as you state.
