MK1 Rocker shaft

#1 Post by froggy2000 » Mon Jan 08, 2018 9:41 pm

Hi all,
I rebuilt my engine and have to change the rocker shaft.
CW sell hardened shaft but only for MK2. Do you know if there is a solution for hardened shaft on a MK1 ?
Thanks for your help.

I asked Rimmer about this and they answered that their tuftride 214559 should also fit on MK1.
...
I'm just surprised that CW have a tuftride shaft for all... except MK1 !

If someone have tested it... ?

you can modify a longer mk2 shaft to fit with the orig MK1 pedestals , it needs shortening and instead of the mk1 collar and splitpin end cap, tap the oil way and fit a setcrew and washer did this on my 1600 and 10 years on still going afaik.
