That sounds far more reasonable Sharon, now there really is no excuse for not being there :D and Friday night is always great.

Only 163 sleeps

Cat wants to know how many sleeps left, before she needs to buy a hat?

Thanks to my enquiry about the 'day ticket' I have had a very helpful and constructive reply from our Chairman. It seems that it has been decided that the 'day ticket' for casual visitors will be a 'Visitor Ticket', and will allow entry to the event throughout the week, at a one-off cost.
I am most grateful to the Register for this concession for 'locals' to visit on a daily basis, and to our Chairman for his personal reply to me.
I hope to meet many of you during that week.
For those coming from a distance and arriving early enough, I can recommend a visit to a small local show at Paxton House, just outside Berwick Upon Tweed, which normally takes place on the weekend before the National - if it follows the normal date pattern it would be on Sunday 22 June this year. I will confirm the event once dates are published, usually around Easter time. It is a good mixed show of classic and vintage vehicles, with the added attractions of the House (an Adams design) and Grounds, the latter with a surviving group of red squirrels, and many other family attractions. It would make a good start to the National week for those interested. I have exhibited my classics there, including my 1975 2500TC, for many years, and intend to do so this year again.

I think we do have some people there the weekend before, perhaps we could put this info in the welcome pack for those members?

What do you think Sharon?

I will definitely pass it onto the organising committee although most people are just coming up a day early so traveling up on the Sunday

How many of you who were at last year's National, 2014, recognised the setting of murder, arson and mayhem portrayed in last night's episode of 'Vera' on ITV?
Good job it didn't all happen when we were there! :?

Quentin,

thanks a lot for the tip! Just watched the episode online on ITV player - funny to see so much TV footage of a 'familiar' place! On top of that, we've spent the Easter weekend in Newcastle and explored the Sage Gateshead just like Vera in the same episode... :-)

Best regards
Thorsten
