National Update

#1 Post by raceyredcar » Mon Jan 06, 2014 8:42 pm

Just a quick update on this years National! Its proving to be very popular with all the statics now taken. Over 60 adults booked already with 30 Triumphs attending too!!

There's plenty of camping left, both hard standing and grass pitches and a few wigwams left for the more adventurous!

The campsites web address is www.meadowhead.co.uk/WarenHome.aspx

Looking to be a great National - how many sleeps left Colin?

As a 'local' member I hope to attend some of the week's events, but feel I must ask why it will cost me £7 per person per day just to be there? What will we get for our money?
I appreciate that programme details are probably not yet finalised, but some guidance will be appreciated please.

i would imagine the £7 pp simply goes to aid the club with any costs that are incurred in organizing such a big event and we must remember that the club is run by volunteers who put a great deal of effort and time into such things, largely at expence to themselves.

£7 to spend a day with like minded triumph lovers to yak about our beloved cars doesnt sound much to me :D

thanks to all that make all this possible

Spot on Lloyd.

It costs a lot of money to run the national, so we a need to chip in.

Some places charge us per visitor too, so we need to consider this too.

I don't think 7 is unreasonable for a day out with all your friends in a stunning location!

Hope this helps

What about a weekend or family pass if coming over several days?

I don't doubt the costs of running an event, nor the commitment of the volunteers, I am involved myself in both categories in other clubs.
My point was that if I attend for say 5 days that week, with my wife who normally accompanies me, I face an outlay of 5 x 2 x £7 = £70. To that I would have to add my fuel costs, so it is not an inconsequential amount for a pensioner member.
A suggestion has been made for a weekend or family pass - something that I would welcome.
No hard feelings, I hope.

I'd not thought of that, but I think we need to look at this.

Leave that with us and we'll see what we can do. I might be wrong, and Sharon is the one to answer this but I think the day pass is only needed once per person for the whole event.

Thanks for raising this, as you say, per day it stacks up!

Good news, the day pass is only charged for Friday and Saturday, friday night includes the welcome supper.

Also I haven't made it clear that the awning fee is a one off charge!
