That car is carmine red actually. Just an observation but the front arches look rounder at the top than they should be, could be that it has mk1 wheel arch repairs let in rather than mk2 as the profile of the arch doesn't look squared off. No sill trims which is a pet hate of mine.
The carbs and inlet manifold are from a much later car, looks like SU HS6s, this should have Strombergs, perhaps it has a 2.5 engine rather than 2000? Needs careful checking, as do all classic car purchases imho.

Certainly looks Carmine red, but I don't think that colour was available on a '71 build car. (respray/reshell perhaps?)

Rear badges fitted the wrong way round, no windscreen trim, and a facelift rear window rubber - as Colin says, the front arches and sills look suspect, and I'd be very wary about buying it as I think there will be plenty of Isopon in there........! Way overpriced too imho.....

The front arches look 'pointed' rather than flat as should be on a Mk2. However, we don't want to be too critical as it does look to be a nice car, but needing very careful viewing!

Cheers,
Mike.
