It looks a bit steep! The boot lid looks wrong to me. Don't think they did a black rear section to the boot, and it looks white inside not blue! Could be wrong and am happy to be proved so! I thought that the two tone applied to the roof section only and emcompassed the screen surround.

The seller trades under the fanciful name of "House of Carriages" but his/her website shows the showroom to be somewhat of a lock-up and there's no trading address, only a mobile phone number. The photos reveal that the location is the village of Thorney about five miles from my house.

Also in Thorney is a workshop for restoring classic cars. The door to the workshop was open as I was driving past a year or so ago and I could see two Stags in there so I stopped for a peek. The mechanic invited me inside and told me that their restoration of the Stags was almost complete and was to a very high standard, this being reflected in the rather high asking prices. The Stags looked not too bad on the outside but closer inspection of one of them showed the "restoration" to be absolutely awful.

The showroom and workshop may not be related of course.

This must be a rarity, I'd have thought.
Facelift 2000 auto saloon with the HS4/Short Manifold setup. I wouldn't have thought many were made, have to look in my book to find out.
Ebay item number: 160321664139

Seem to have seen the mk1 advertised elsewhere and as you state Charles I thought early two tones were just roof and dashes and yes I thought boot was white inside
