Hello from Australia

#1 Post by claude626 » Sun Mar 11, 2018 2:21 am

I am the proud new owner of a AMI built Topaz2000 Mk2.

It has had a transplanted 2500 engine, with a serial number of MM46649HE. Is this a TC or S engine?

Hi,
according to the factory manual that number shows a 2500S engine built March 1975 onwards.

Hi claude 626,
do you have any pictures of your new prized possession? Always great to see new/old cars turning up, all the best,
Mike

I thought the engine numbers prefix letters for the TC and S were the same (MM) essentially because there was no difference in the engine spec between the two models.
However the chassis numbers prefix letters were different (MM for the TC and MP for the S) due to the different model designation.
