Hi All

Well just revisited my youth! Owned two 2000s during the late 60's early 70s and have fond memories so in my old age I have been out and bought another! OME 87L, a 2000 Mk2 manual / overdrive in French Blue was driven up from east London to Manchester (fingers crossed all the way) a few weeks ago and is now being fettled (new prop shaft and Strombergs so far) into a much better driver. Look forward to getting involved!

I would have put in a photo but can't seem to make it work!!
Aidan

Hi Aidan
Where abouts in Manchester are you? You would be most welcome to attnd the Lancashire Group meetings in Samlesbury if you like, we have members from your way (Rochdale, Eccles Wigan) who attend regularly. Its also a way to get to attend classic car shows in the North-West, also there is Drive It Day in April which is well supported in our area.
Regards, Dave.

Hi Dave

Thanks for this invitation --I am near to the Trafford Centre in Urmston --not too far from Salmsbury. I had thought I should hook up with the Cheshire group but have had no response to my email to their contact address.

Look forward to taking part--I have been on the rally scene for many years --I restore Fire Engines but am getting a bit old for it!!

Looking forward to meeting up in the New Year

Regards

Aidan

Hi Aiden,
Welcome to the Register and the Forum!
Further to the comments from Dave B, the Lancashire Group of the Register is quite active throughout the year, and we have a steady group of members who attend the monthly meetings on the last Thursday of each month at the New Hall Tavern at Samlesbury. The only change to this is December where we have our Christmas meal or party night on another mutually convenient date other than the the last Thursday, as it obviously falls between Christmas and New Year when family activities are on the forefront of members minds, not their Triumphs! This year we have a meal booked on Thursday 21st December, so there won't be a meeting on Thursday 28th (the last Thursday). Contact details for the Register Group Leaders are in SIXAppeal, or pm me your number, and I can let you know a bit more about the activities of the Register and the Lancashire Group!

Hi Aiden,
Just a reminder that it is the monthly meeting of the Lancashire Group this coming Thursday (25th Jan) at the New Hall Tavern, Curedale Lane, Samlesbury, Preston (just off J31 of the M6, take the A59 towards Blackburn, after 1/2 miles from the M6,take a minor road on the right signed Roach Bridge, follow to the crossroads, and the pub is in fron if you). We usually sit to the rIght as you go in from the car park, but one of the staff will point us out to you! Don't expect to see any Triumphs in the car park though - I'm one of the worst offenders! Mine don't like this wintery weather and salty roads!!

Hi Aiden,
Good to meet you at the last Lancashire Group meeting, and to hear the story of the acquisition of your 2000.
Just a reminder, if you able to attend, the next meeting for the Lancashire Group is this Thursday, the 22nd February. With it being virtually a week before the end of this particular month, sometimes the date passes before members realise that the meeting has been and gone!
John.
