New Member from New Zealand - PI Estate

#1 Post by Threeonthetree » Wed May 03, 2017 11:24 pm

Hello, I've recently joined the forum though I probably should have quite some times ago. I currently own a Triumph 2.5PI MkII Estate and recently sold my MkII 2500TC saloon and MkII 2000TC saloon, both New Zealand assembled. I've owned Triumphs for only a short while, about four years or so but have enjoyed driving them and inevitably repairing them.
Currently my friend and I are working on his Pre-facelift MkII 2.5PI saloon which he purchased barely running. We've been learning a lot about the cars, particularly the Petrol Injection system and once I've finished selling a few of my other vehicles I'll make a start on my Estate.
The previous owner skimped on basic maintenance and ran the car out of oil, developing a lovely bottom end knock in the process. I've had the car running once I bumped the oil pressure up to an adequate level but will still tear down and recondition the engine as the knock is faintly audible now and then.

Hi Tony, I'm based in South Auckland. I joined the Auckland Triumph Car Club a month or so ago but haven't really been involved as I sold my roadworthy car.
I'm thinking of paying Des Farrelly in Tauranga call at some point as I know he has several estates which I need a few bits from.
