Try Wins International in East Grinstead. I got a rebuilt one on an exchange basis for the rally car. Has put up with a lot of abuse and wasn't that expensive from memory!

Sorted now. Just planning the remove/fit process.

Update on our MG ZTT seats. My partner in crime Martin took the seats out to clean them. In a fit of curiosity I asked him if our Securon seat catch stalks would bolt to the seat rather than the transmission tunnel. It turns out that the standard MG/Rover fitting has exactly the same bolt diameter as the aftermarket Securon item.

After a lot of hassle Martin and I fitted the 3.45:1 diff. Having posted after the facts on Facebook, it turns out that there was an easier way. Never mind it’s in now.

The seats came out when we decided to fit the seat belt stalk to the seat base rather than the transmission tunnel. The old transmission tunnel seat belt mount will be used to fit a 2kg fire extinguisher. The passenger parcel shelf will come out to give my long legged Co-pilots more room in the footwell - both are about 6’ 4”

The original bonnet was shot with rust holes on the top surface along the line of the cross-brace. I had picked up another good bonnet from eBay last year and Lee had painted it matt black. Lee had also cleaned up the front grill and sprayed that up as well.

We then checked over the front suspension, brakes and steering. Everything was fine except for a minor clicking from somewhere on the nearside of the manual steering rack - if anyone has any ideas on what it could be - I am open to suggestion.

Lee re-fitted the air filter box.

Attention turned to the dials and dashboard. Originally we planned to fit a 2500S dashboard with rev counter, but the plugs are different. There is already a rats nest of scotch locks and varied non-standard Lucas wire colours making it difficult to work out what was what, so we’ve junked the idea of fitting the 2500S dash and tried to sort out the existing dash.

The clock didn’t work so I plugged a spare live power lead to the clock and it took out the horns, and headlight flasher fuse.The indicators and hazards weren’t working either. The car is a pre-facelift Mk2 [ME commission) and due to our ignorance we assumed it was original, it turns out that the dash is a later ML commission unit with the hazard switch. The hazard light wiring has been crow-barred into the wiring which I will sort out, with the correct coloured wiring from the factory circuit diagram.

The plywood is delaminating very badly, does anyone have a spare good dashboard that I can buy, dials not needed.

They are the same clips as the ones on the door panels I think.

They actually are different clips - the retaining part of the door card clip is like a sprung clip whereas the console clip is oval shaped with a hollow centre. They both attach to the door card / console panel in the same way, but are different where they clip in to the actual door and plastic centre console.
I will no doubt have some lurking somewhere.
I will also check my used wood dash panels. Can you confirm that you want a 2000 panel - do you want to go back to the PFL or keep to a FL with the hazard light switch and seat belt warning lamp?
