It is a very slow burning project I started a year ago.

When I did my toolmaking apprenticeship we did bench fitting fo 6 month so only hand tools allowed. Very dull when a whole workshop of machinery in front of you, however when we did get on the machinery we only made Aluminum gear knobs for our cars for three years

I’ve made a few more items for the Pi tool kit. Would have been a good idea to take these tools with us on our trip to Paignton.

The MK2 sight jar for one man injector testing.

When trying to fix our issue at the national a member I didn’t catch your name sorry, said try and block the injector hole up whilst checking the injector. I understand pulling the injector out can effect the vacuum so rather than use my thumb I’ve made this bung.

Lastly the cam locking tool for the metering unit.

Quite week on the CAD day job! The cogs start moving. A tappet adjusting tool which I’ve kinda copied from an American tool company but I’m trying to make it indexable. As one complete turn of a 5/16 thread is 40 thou, I guess a quarter would be 10 thou for the tappet. The Gunson tappet tool I’ve seen seems quite cumbersome however I haven’t used one. I guess a spanner, feeler gauges and screwdriver do the job perfectly but that’s way to easy. Might take a while to make but I’ve made a start!

Hello just made some new gizmos for the Pi tool kit a few inline gauges to monitor the Pi system. I’ve had mine on the car for a while and it works well. I’ve made one for Steve Radley who is going to put it through it’s paces on the RBRR 2018. The other gauges are for vacuum distributor and metering unit.

I’ve just made a bung for the injector port for the push type injector just needs the ball knob.

Still making a few things for the tool kit.

Gathered a little bit of sheet and tube steel for and threw a pump bench tester together.

Testing and servicing 4 pumps most common problem dirty electric motor parts. Going to play with the cable gauges and lengths at some point. Quite pleased that I'm not flooding the boot of the car for now.

Also made the pedestal drive shaft cap when changing the seals.
