Well I decided to have a go at spraying the engine bay myself so I would love to say the pictures are my first attempt but they ain’t. It went tits up!

Could have blamed this guy.

But no it was mine. The top coat when it dried started to crack. So called the painter guru round and he said ahh yeah not left for enough time when you applied the next coat that is. Ahh I said, you’ll have flat that back. Right if I do that will you spray it for me. He said no, how are going to learn by doing that. After 2 nights flatting it back this is the second attempt at the top coat, no cracking just a small run on the turret. It ain’t easy!

Hello lee, I think when I upload to google drive it can have a delay. Also my iPad run out of battery halfway through posting. I always end up editing everything 3 or four times because I do wonder about my grasp of written English sometimes. Anyway I think we’re up and running now. Hopefully can make a start putting her back together now.

Progression is underway with the assembly today, installed the fuel lines and brake lines, brake lines cleaned then clear wax oil to preserve there originality. Bulkhead items fitted the wiring harness and heater are in.

As I’m looking at the uploaded pictures the water bottle wires look odd, I’ve still got to pull the loom around a bit before clipping it into position give it another look tomorrow.

A bit OCD I’ve found some tape pretty much spot on to the original.

So it’s blinking hot and we’re plodding along with the project and here is weekends progress on the assembly so far.

Suspension installation

I’m over the disappointment of no red bits. Distraught for a few days only.

Over the last couple nights I have managed to get the radiator, vacuum thingy me-gee steering pump and alternator on. Annoyingly I’ve got to take the metering unit off again having two 132 BHP cars dad timed it up the same, but it’s timed on number 6 and you have to get metal rules out and do some scribed lines on the timing wheel. Not obvious in certain manuals.
