"Klipper" My 2500S Estate
Hi All
As shown in my meet Klipper thread, I have recently bought this early 2500S. It needs some work to get it through an MOT but hopefully not too much.

Holes in the floor
IMG_1294 by Philip Smith, on Flickr
The drivers floor will need replacing as will both the outriggers.
The passenger side we think can be plated.
At the rear we have a couple of small holes around the offside wheel arch.

Re: "Klipper" My 2500S Estate
So new floor and outriggers ordered but supplier didnt think he could get them delivered until next week. This wasn't helpful as I'm back to work then. So while waiting I decided to remove the rear bumper as the tow bar was very crusty.

Despite me telling everyone I always take pictures as I go I forgot to take the tow bar before taking it to bits oops.
Surprisingly the floor and outriggers arrived this afternoon so cutting holes in the morning

I thought I ought to add
Although I have access to good facilities I am a complete numpty and normally get help and let friends do the work for me
Today was different. Cut out the old floor and cleaned up all the edges. The inner sill needs plating before we fit the floor so I cut a plate from a damaged wing, feels odd to be using good metal from a Fiat It was a modern one though.

Re: "Klipper" My 2500S Estate
Did the panels arrive then Phil?
Are you doing the welding yourself or subbing it out?
Great colour for an estate btw, not my favourite on a saloon (nice on a sprint though )
Keep the updates coming, we love pics on the forum.

yes the panels arrived very small amount of trimming and they fit.
I do have access to a workshop so with some help could do the work. I was going to be shown/taught to weld but Adam made a start but then went on to finish it as well
So drivers floor done, passenger side, wheel arch and bonnet panel still work in progress.
No more pics yet as work keeps getting in the way.

Re: "Klipper" My 2500S Estate
First time I have seen this post as I am playing catch up again - that is looking a well tidy Estate - keep up the good work. I have an 'N' reg S estate that has been squat in my garage for faaaar too long and now have the opportunity to get on with it and I cant wait to drive her again

Re: "Klipper" My 2500S Estate
Its not quite so tidy in the flesh. Each panel will need some work but if all goes to plan most can be done as a rolling restoration we're working through the bad bits to get an MOT then perhaps some fun driving it.
I gather there aren't many N Reg around as this one has an early comm number MP506

Re: "Klipper" My 2500S Estate
Earlier car but later registration than 'our' car Phil, we are MP584.
Registered 14/7/75 by BL Power and Transmissions division at Abingdon, an assessment car.
P reg was from 1/8/75 and as the cars had only just been launched, private buyers would most likely have waited for the new reg, hence a low number with N plates.
One advantage of the N plate over the P is the visual test for emissions, very handy with HS6s.
