As David said, each to his own. The number on my Jaguar as I mentioned before is my Amateur Radio callsign which consists of a 'G', a single number and 3 letters. It obviously can only go on a car post 1989 and when I spent a lot of money on the Jaguar 5 years ago (a lot for me anyway), I was prepared to spend the extra £500 to get that number.

It came straight form the DVLA and I don't think they now sell them at much less than that. Yet more tax.

There are those who understand and agree, and those who don't. For the latter we shall just have to agree to differ.

Cheers,
Mike.

Well, it all started when I wanted to buy a plate for Sam. I couldn't afford a "SAM" plate, and you need 3 initials for a DVLA plate, and Sam doesn't have a middle initial.

So, I bought her P3 OSC and then spaced it to read P30 SC.

She then bought H30 AC to go on mine so we had matching plates.

Had them for about 10 years now, never had a problem from MOT or Police ever.

But, being as mine is on a company car, my bosses were uncomfortable with the spacing, and when I got my new car asked me to space them differently.

So, both plates now have no spaces in at all and look fine.

Slightly naughty I know............ but they look good!!

Also got VML3M on retention off the Stag........ but the Estate is a K plate, so I can't put it on that..........so its just on a bit of paper for the moment. Would look nice on a Bentley Turbo RT though......... 8)

Same thing about her car. I offered he an upgrade, but she likes the one she has!!

This thread set me thinking about plates again so have been looking around for a RFB plate. No dealers seem to be selling suffix style regs tho? Only prefix and new style plates, am i missing something?

I could get a VLB (her initials, at least they will be once we are married) plate for Vicki tho for about £180 which doesnt seem too bad. She has previously said she would like one so could make a nice wedding present.

Neither do you own a car!!!!!!!!!!!!! ...........again DVLA and Goverment own them as it say's registered keeper!...........This is just one thing of getting money out of us.For example it all dates back to bygone years (won't go into it for political reasons),it's same with Birth Certificates, the law is you have to get registered, thaty is basically so 'bIG bROTHER'' BASICALLY OWNS YOU and all certificates are sat in a vault making money...................rant over.
