Diff oil
Re: Diff oil
Personally I'd stick with the recommended GL4 EP90.
This is the gearbox and diff oil that I use - I've used it for a good number years with no problems.

Re: Diff oil
I think a mineral GL4 EP80 or 90 is recommended for overdrive gearboxes. I use Comma mineral EP80/90 as the spec is correct. I use it in the diff too rather than having two different cans. I think the mineral aspect is the most important for the bronze components in the units. Someone with more knowledge than me may be able to clarify or otherwise.

Re: Diff oil
I use GL5 spec as per the manual states. I have been using the Halfords own brand which seems ok. In all the cars I’ve had I have never seen dirty gearbox or diff oil. On all my vehicles I have always changed all oils and fluids annually as a minimum and sometimes twice a year with engine oil & filter.

Re: Diff oil
I am way down the pecking order in knowledge on these cars but going on info i was given a while ago - i had my diff out and sent to our local Trans outfit for inspection ( 47k miles). The report was all good. They suggested at that time ( 2011) that the correct grade to refill when fitted was EP90 GL5 . I went on to Millers website and that grade was also given. So that is what i put in - Millers EP90 GL5. Not many miles driven since so i cannot comment further. Maybe not much help but thought i would add it in.
