I have 2.5 diff that has a drain plug fitted. It isn't on a car, but buried on the garage, so I can check it when I can get to it if required to confirm where the drain plug has been positioned.

Hello Rod,

I drilled and tapped a hole in the base of the casing while I was rebuilding my differential.
Straightforward when it's out of the car.

thanks gents
there's a "boss" thingy on the bottom of the case close to the back edge where the rear case bolts on, looks like it was intended for a drain plug. I'm going to drill and tap this.
Cheers

hi all
done see pic
Used a SS 3/8th UNC Cap screw (because I had one laying around)
The hole is chamfered to accept an O-ring under the bolt head and the wire hanging down is to secure the bolt when i finally finish the job
cheers all
