Rilsan coated driveshafts

#1 Post by herald1360 » Mon Jan 21, 2019 8:35 pm

Hello all

Got a pair of rilsan coated driveshafts fitted to my 2500. They have grease nipples fitted, so I assume they should be greased, but with what type of grease ?

thank you in advance

Which part of the driveshaft does the grease nipple service - I assume the UJ's? I lubricate my greasable UJs with a LM type multipurpose grease using a greasegun, whereas I lubricate the splines manually with a CV joint grease.
However, this answer seems pretty basic; I presume this is what you are asking, and I am assuming your driveshafts are of the original design.

Hi
Driveshafts are new rilsan jointed with grease nipple on actual shaft. I have greased uj's in normal way. Have now used LM grease in shaft.
having issues with handbrake, but thats another story!
