This is what Rimmers sell: http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-GRID005260Mike Stevens wrote:Yes. The Stag uses the backplate approach so will fit the Mk1 (and all estates) OK. The ratio should be 3.7 for a Stag, but funnily enough not the same as a saloon 3.7. The CWP were different/beefed up? Due to this, the casing and rear cover (not backplate) are different. Ah yes, the input flange will probably need changing too!andyborris wrote:Will a Stag one fit?
My Stag has a saloon 3.7 fitted anyway!
I think the TR6 diff is the same internals, probably 3.45 ratio. As Alec said, I don't think it has the nose extension, with the flange right onto the pinion rather than a quill shaft. In theory easy to change, but getting the correct pinion pre-load may need some thought.
Cheers,
Mike.
So for a Mk1 saloon/any estate could you just buy the Rimmer diff (they sell the drive flange housing assembly separately) and fit our backplate and drive flange housing?
