Mk1 horn

#1 Post by Sal » Wed Oct 19, 2022 7:02 am

Hey folks,

Does anyone have a picture or can explain where the horn/s sit correctly under the bonnet.

I have a dodgy set that came with the car that I’d like to replace with originals.

Thanks
Sal

Hi Damion,
They both sit by the aperture at either side of the radiator panel. From memory, one bracket is straight, and one is doglegged. I'll see if I can attached a picture later....

Here is a picture of an early Mk1 - you can just make out the position of the two horns if you enlarge it!

Yes, that's right. The RH horns wiring I recollect goes through a hole in the fibre board cover over the aperture in the radiator panel.

I've got an air filter in the way on the right hand side, so both mine are side by side on the left.

They are paired low and high tone, so you need one of each obviously.
