Distributor Rebuild query

#1 Post by Carboy0 » Sat Mar 09, 2019 5:18 pm

I am rebuilding a 2500S 45D6 distributor that I picked up at Stoneleigh the other week. It’s come apart fairly well and there is negligible wear on the shaft or the housing, so it’s good to go again.

I need to replace the O ring on the housing, can anyone advise the part number and a source, or alternatively the size (imperial).

The usually very helpful Rimmers website doesn’t list the part.

Thanks in advance.

According to the parts book, it is 513862.
Chris Witor is usually the best source of both info and parts for our Triumphs. I haven't bought anything from Rimmers for years........

Thanks Guys, I have emailed the DD.

I don’t generally use Rimmers for parts, but their online parts catalogue is normally great for identifying part numbers etc.

Can you confirm the part number, I can find 513682, but not 513862.

Hello Carboy0,

did you check the number stamped on the distributor to verify it is correct for your engine?

Hi Alec,

Yes thanks, checked and cross-checked.

The Distributor Doctor has sorted me out the correct £0.75 ‘O’ ring.
