losing the floor dip switch

As the title says , i want to do away with the floor dip switch ..what's the easiest way to achieve this...does a later mk1 have the dip on the column arm? for instance

Hello Widget,

I have done this using a MK2 column switch. I did it by fitting a MK 2 column also plus the MK 2 shroud that surrounds the column, all because I had the parts, this included fitting the wiper column switch and two speed wiper motor.

It probably is less work to find a simple clamp on switch, e.g. Mini and fit that?
