Fuel tank sender needed please

#1 Post by andyborris » Sat May 24, 2014 5:34 pm

2 used, 2 new and I still haven't got a working fuel gauge sender!

The 2 used were used....guess that's why they didn't work, one new sender fell to pieces as I took it out of the box (today!), that's still better then the first new one, that wouldn't seal and leaked petrol, a lot!

Has anyone got a sender, which they know works, for sale please?

This has been on-going since the last 2000 Register Nats!

Thanks

Andy

I had the same problem regarding leaking with a new sender unit.

I ended up nicking the rubber gasket off my Vitesse in the end to stop it leaking.

Also, the retaining rings are much weaker. I broke off the lugs used to tighten it and then realised (when it was in a position to never be moved again) that I hadn't adjusted the float properly and now 1/2 full is empty!

Yup I did that as well....
That was a year ago, and I'm wondering when (if ever) I can be bothered to fix it.
