A few pics of KNG
Hi all, I was going to put up the short video of my lad filming KNG's escape from the garage for the first time in many years, but then I remembered I actually never see video footage on here so I presume that is a no-no. So for now here are some pics of the underside, taken at the workshop over Christmas. When the weather breaks down here, and they actually allow us to use a hosepipe again, I will give it the proper shampoo and clean up it deserves and send some externals....

The tyres are scrap, as they are 14 years old now, even though they only ran for 100 miles or maybe less - so now out of date. The 'S' wheels I will retain, albeit they now need a refurb, but i am not a huge fan, hence the aforementioned minilites. And I still have a bit more painting to attend to at the front end, but basically the underside is all but complete. Hours and hours of painstaking work

Looking good Nige, the underside of my Estate is mainly surface rust & plating, I need to get under there, clean, treat & assess once the weather improvesForkie wrote: ↑Sun Jan 15, 2023 8:22 pmThe tyres are scrap, as they are 14 years old now, even though they only ran for 100 miles or maybe less - so now out of date. It is all on the weather, is'nt it Mine was similar, in that all the original underseal ( or whatever the B.L. apprentice lashed on on that Friday afternoon) had albut evaporated over the years from the face of the inner cill, across the floor pans inward for around 4", and along the entire length, on both sides. Noticed it when I went to view, although luckily it was only surface stuff, nothing too serious . Hence I had in mind to do what I have done to help preserve it, just did not envisage the time scale I do think I got lucky with this one though, knowing how they just desolve a little bit more in each shower, I do believe it's saviour has been it has always been garaged.
Your Estate for a '66 though looks remarkable. Much history etc with it ?

Re: A few pics of KNG
Very little history thus far, I know the previous three owners, the last two were short term and didn't really use the car, the oldest owner is hopefully going to send me some details. The car was in an early episode of Endeavour, filming took place on very salty roads apparently and that was the start of the underbody problems. That owner had the sills done too, will be taking it in for evaluation on the 28th, we will see what needs to be done then, Lloyd doesn't have both sills available now anyway, c.6 month delay on one side apparently.Forkie wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 9:48 pmIt is all on the weather, is'nt it Mine was similar, in that all the original underseal ( or whatever the B.L. apprentice lashed on on that Friday afternoon) had albut evaporated over the years from the face of the inner cill, across the floor pans inward for around 4", and along the entire length, on both sides.
