As the original door caps can be restored I'm not sure how many people would opt for new replacements, although the original finish is difficult to remove it can be done, I stripped my own many years ago and re-finished in polyurethane varnish, not the original spec but I was and still am happy with it. Perhaps it is different if they are missing from a car or maybe someone would like a different veneer then possibly there is a need for them. Only my opinion in any case.
Mike.
