Hand built racer

Not sure if this will be of interest to anyone bar myself, but thought I'd share some quick snaps of a car local to me.

Chap who owns it is 73 and did pretty much all the work himself. It hasn't run in a few years, but has a fully worked over 2.5 PI motor, 200bhp was the number thrown out. Heavily lightened, circa 800kg i believe. Lots of aero/ducting in/out the engine bay and back end - the NACA ducts feed air over the fuel cell then out the slits between the rear lights. The big alloy plates at the rear are for a big wing (not fitted) with mounts running down into the chassis. Interior has a seat, pedals, steering wheel, big tach and that's about it! Lexan windows all round except for the windscreen. Rose jointed suspension from and rear, the list goes on.

I asked if i could buy it but he wasn't having any of it! However I was assured that it will be driven in anger again one day.

It interests me. :D
Looks almost comparable to Paul Newman's 'Le Taxi' in terms of engineering and specification although built to different rules.
Would love to see more pictures of how it's put together.
