I don't quite get the 'Michelotti penned' Rally Car bit of the advert, to be honest.
The seller appears to be describing the general rallying history of the Mk1, which I personally think is misleading (to some?) :?:
It 'looks' reasonable bodily, but it's obviously been messed with, which, depending on any buyers intentions, could be relatively expensive to put back to standard. Seats (these blue ones have a hole in anyway!), sill trims, bumpers, interior trim just for starters are expensive.
In the absence of anyone knowing the car, then a physical examination is the only way to answer the question.

Not seen it other than in this ad, but a rally car? Really? Just because it has no bumpers and 5 extra lights on the front does not make it a rally car. To compete in UK events, the MSA insist that bumpers are fitted, and a maximum of four forward facing lights. The standard car has four to start with! However, if the body is good, that has to be the main point. Only way is either to go and see it, or find someone nearby who is willing to look on your behalf.

I must agree with Charles about this car.

The way the ad has been worded does make me concerned about the veracity of the dealership.

It almost implies that is a period rally car but to suggest it is even a modern 'evocation' purely because a bit of bling has been added to it is almost dishonest. Apart from Charles' comments, the practicality of the interior preparation for rallying has to be questioned ........

If anyone is viewing the car consider it for what it is, a Mk1 2000 with some fancy bits added - forget the rally bit. Then you may find it worth buying as a nice car but at a lower price.

Just my opinion.
