Have you got any Standard Triumph dealer stickers to share.

I have featured several rear windows stickers in my articles about Standard Triumph car dealers and this article features several stickers that are non dealer specific.

My 1970 Valencia blue Mk2 2000 has still got the equivalent of a 'quality control' stamp on the front windscreen stating PASSED. I hadn't seen it until I was about to clean the inside of the windscreen one day, and realised what it was. The car was very low mileage when I got it and had obviously had a sheltered life. It still had the polythene on the doors, and the protective tape on the door kick plates on the sills. I have since protected the stamp by cutting a circle out of the clear section of an old tax disc holder to place over it. I have previously tried to photograph it, but the result wasn't that good.

Sounds like you need a polarising filter to cut some of the reflections out. Might be possible to use a pair of sun glasses.

Number 34 in my series of articles about Triumph car dealers this is article about Mumfords who had garages in Plymouth, Truro, Exeter, Newton Abbot, Tiverton and Torquay. I believe Mumfords of Newton Abbot was established following the take over of A C Bulpin & Son Ltd who had been a Standard Triumph garage in 1955. I am not sure of the date of the take over.

Do you have any info about Mumfords, Newquay Road, Truro.

I used to go to the Mumfords in Exeter make in the mid 70s for Triumph spares. Very helpful they were too!

Cheers,
Mike.

Standard Triumph had a factory in New Zealand where they made Triumph cars. To get the cars out to the dealers delivery lorries were used. I have this photo from Andrew Newman on facebook which shows Triumph 2000 MkI's being taken off site by H Boyce & Co Ltd truck.
