Very nearly bought this a couple of weeks back- it's now disappeared off ebay though.
Facelift PI with odd history. MN chassis,mg engine still(on carbs) regd dec 74
Drove quite well. Some work needed on the body and paint crazed, but very solid.

I would say that's more than likely a 2500TC made to look like a 2500S, as the S was only launched in June 1975, and the majority would be P reg or later, P plates starting in Aug 1975. That particular vehicle in question was manufactured and registered in 1974, so it cant be a 2500S.

Here's one that looks in particularly rude health, (not too sure about the pfl bumpers and the post 2001 number plate font though) taxed & tested according to the DVLA, but regd in Oct 74 is slightly newer than yours.

Quite a few seem to crop up in New Zealand - probably about half of those that actually come on sale - I've seen at least half a dozen for sale over the last 18 months. They were NZ assembled and maybe were selling better there?

With an MN chassis no. and MG engine no. and taking into account the first registration date, it was a facelift pi originally.

My 1972 car looks like a face lift model, with Sundym windows, heated rear screen, rubber bumper trims and head restraints - but these are just additions that I like the look of!

CAR how do you know the chassis and engine numbers?the seller doesn,t list them in the ad.
But i think you maybe right as if you look close the P.I pump rubber mounts are still there, think its had all S spec stuff put into a P.I shell maybe, but still a strange car!
The classic car site one if its the white one listed as 1974 the seller got it wrong and corrects it as 1972.
What reg is Jaynes car?
My chassis number is something like MN 963 is that the 963rd P.I built.
