Hi Paul.
Thanks for the tip,had a loose nut moment on the final day of last years National on Cecil, whose wheels I had powdercoated as stated on the forum.Had not realised that there could be a problem, thought I had failed to tighten properly on that wheel. :(
Will now check mine again, and remove coating in nut areas. :)
Removing standard hubcaps can be a bind,so there is a tendency to ignore, but not now. :)

Be aware that the same can happen with newly painted wheels.Although the nuts/studs are tightened to the correct torque, the paint will "flatten"behind the nut, causing the nut to be loose and loosen further.
We have had several instances of this and ultimately losing wheels, and usually they came from tyre suppliers supplying new tyres on exchange wheels, and painting the exchange wheels to freshen before supply,to make the end user think he /she is getting a better service!
I have had to contact the said suppliers and ask/instruct them NOT to paint the stud tapers.
Hope this helps, and never affects anyone on here!!
Cheers!
