Hello,
It's me again, the infernal meddler.
If you go onto the main site (http://www.triumph2000register.co.uk) you'll find that the it looks a bit different.
I've put the new site online, even though it's far from finished. You'll now find that if you click on the link to the forum, it displays the forum in an 'iframe' within the body of the site. You can still launch it in a window of its own, as before.
Obviously I aim to keep adding to the new site as time permits.
Any questions, fire away.

How do I launch it in its own seperate window? The screen at home is a very old 14" screen and the centre panel only gives two words in the view meaning I have to suffle left and right on every line to read it! :?

Hi Charles,
You can either go directly to the full URL, which is www.triumph2000register.co.uk/phpBB3, or, when looking at the forum within the main site, at the top of the forum window where it says 'Title' and 'Description', click the title which is a link - this will launch the forum in it's own window.
If it's a problem for others I'll look at reducing the width of the sidebars of the main site.

Well Mr. Webmaster, I love this new site, I keep trying to show it to people, but it was always back on the old one when they were available to look. I'm glad it's here to stay even if (like most of our cars) it's work in progress.
The changing pics look brilliant, they really are great shots and more interesting than a full picture at a show would be.

Keep up the good work Allen :D

Cheers Colin.

Just a quick question Allen, what has happened to the member's cars section from the old website.......specifically my car?

I was just dropping a line to a previous owner, and directing them to look on the website at member's cars, when I discovered it has only our president's 'race car demise' .

Is this part of the work in progress?

Cheers Colin.

The new main website promises to be a great improvement over what was already a fine site. I like it very much. Just one question for now.....

I have the forum bookmarked as I visit it two or three times a day. I visit the main site less often and get there by clicking on the icon thingy at the top of the forum. But that icon seems to have disappeared... Was that intended?

No problem in creating a new bookmark for the main site of course, but I preferred the quick link from the forum.

Here is a tip for all you Mac users if you have not discovered it yet.

Go to the home page of the new web site.
In the 'title bar' at the top (The Club, Member's Area, Shop, Forum etc.), if you drag and drop that title across to the Dock you will get one of the '@' signs on a spring logos appear which when you move the mouse arrow over shows the name of the title you dragged across.
You can drag as many of these titles as you like into the Dock and have them in a string if you wish.
You can also set up a general Website icon by dragging across the site web address when you have made a search on a Search Engine. Works with any address you want to refer to frequently.
All you have to do then to open up instantly into that page of the Website from your desktop is to simply click on the appropriate icon. :D

You can use the same technique with the old forum by using the sidebar titles.

Don't know whether any of the new Windows formats have this idea of a Dock, but for those who don't know the Dock on a Mac is like a tool bar that sits at bottom/top/side of your desktop with icons that give you direct access to common or popular applications (e.g. Mail, Firefox, Address Book, Photo, Scanner etc.)
