I've just seen my birthday "congratulations". But what is there to congratulate about being nearer 70 than 60? :(

Except I remember the whole lifetime of the Triumph 2000 range with no problem at all, and have now had the pleasure, and honour, of owning them for almost 40 years. :D

Hi David,

Maybe 'felicitations' are more in order? I hope you did something nice today then. We spent a happy time (and a cold time) at Stoneleigh. It was good to put faces to forum names and to have a good chat with Andy (Roberts) who we've not seen for some time. I even managed to buy some 'S' wheels for a good price too!

Now you only have 364 days to wait until your name appears on the forum front page again!

Cheers,
Mike.

Er, spent most of the day with two others in a railway yard, chainsawing huge 12" x 5" section jarrah points-sleepers into short lengths and transporting them back to base to use as packings under the steam crane outriggers. For those who haven't come across it, jarrah is an extremely hard and extremely heavy Australian hardwood.

Yes, it was "nice"... when we'd finished! Good company and good exercise made it enjoyable though.

Hi David,

I live very close to the Didcot Railway Centre. When I can get away from the 'day' job permanently, I may volunteer for work down there. It would certainly make a difference from what I currently do during the day. Mind you, with all the project I have planned a may never have time to leave my own garage!

Glad you had a satisfying day.

Cheers,
Mike.
