Forum Changes

#1 Post by Allen Walker » Mon Oct 06, 2008 9:50 am

Hello Forum members,

As you will have noticed I have made some changes to the Forum. Hopefully this will be the last major rejig. I have decided to merge Fuelling and Ignition into the Engine category, because

A: Most questions relating to Engine are about ignition and fuelling anyway

B: Fuelling and Ignition are so interdependent that a question/problem with one could easily involve the other.

I have also added a 'Projects' forum for you to talk about the work you are doing on your cars - no technical queries in this please.

I hope the new layout makes sense and works for you. I have tried to make it organised without overcomplicating it.

Thanks for your patience,

Allen

Hi Allen,

In comparison to a number of other fora I visit, this one knocks the spots of them all. It is well structured and easy to navigate around - and friendly! At least one of the others has no structure at all with one great long list.

So, any changes you are doing - and I like the new structure - are only going to pull us further ahead. I know I appreciate all the hard work you are putting in and I'm sure other forum members do too, so - thanks!

Cheers,
Mike.

No it hasn't. It's just that I've moved any recent posts into their respective (correct) category. The last post that could reasonably be described as "Other" just happened to be Brian's in July.

Ooo, get you!
I thought you'd made a spelling mistake when I first saw it, then realised you were being posh.

Mike probably says "bacteria" as well, instead of talking proper and saying "bacteriums".

Actually the word "forums" doesn't bother me (as the Anglicisation of an adopted Latin word) but I cringe when I see "your" instead of "you're" as in "be careful where your going"!

Back to the subject, and I go along 100% with Mike's comments about how this forum compares with others. Top job, Allen! :D

Ah. Sorry, the problems of a) doing Latin at school ( a LONG time ago) and b) being married to a Latin 'A' level scholar who proof reads for a profession. Do you know, she sometimes corrects my emails! Hmm.

Cheers,
Mike.
