I recommend all visitors to the Triumph 2000 Register site and this forum use either Firefox or Safari.
Though Internet Explorer 7.x onwards works OK, some users still using I.E.6 may experience some layout oddities (though nothing that should prevent reading of pages). This is because I.E.6 is not fully CSS standards-compliant.

Re: Best browser
Hi Allen,
Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, here at work we are limited by the IT police and forced to use version 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.070227-2254
Did you get that?
Actually, it seems to be OK even with the Victorian version!
Not sure what I use at home - IE7 I think.
Cheers,
Mike.

Re: Best browser
What amazes me about the above stats is that nearly 30% of all web users are still using software which doesn't actually work properly.

Re: Best browser
Well 14 million people have just downloaded Firefox 3 - so I am expecting the percentage to go up a bit more now too!

As a journeyman when it comes to the internet - i.e. I have no trouble using it but am far from being an expert - I'm surprised that those using IE7 are recommended to change to Firefox or Safari because (obsolescent?) IE6 sometimes gives layout problems!
David.
p.s. The gauze was posted first class on Wednesday.

Re: Best browser
You're not alone Alan. I don't know what Firefox and Safari is either!
I did manage to change from IE6 to the much improved IE7 for my internet provision though (OK, Microsoft did it for me automatically - all I had to do was check the "Yes" box and sit back!).

Guess I'm just anti-Microsoft
David - I got the gauze. Many, many thanks. I think that's probably the tiniest, lightest thing that's ever been posted to me. Very handy though - I owe you one.
