I am in a similar position with my 2500, the tax expires at the end of May, but the MOT expires at the begining of June. I have a V11 reminder, but this says 'This vehicle needs an appropiate MOT test certificate' as it was sent out in early May. I am going to wait until June and then tax the car either online or at the Post Office using the 16(?) digit serial number on the V5, as if I didn't have a V11 reminder. We'll see how that works!

According to others, the cars automatically become MoT exempt as they become 40 years old. This is then re-confirmed every time the tax declaration is made. The form V112 only applies when the car is being taxed. Silly really.

I have three tax renewal reminders for my Triumphs whose tax expires at the end of May. They all state a current MOT is required - however these forms are printed weeks in advance and any changes to legislation in the intervening period are taken into account when taxing them i.e. the mot exemption which is now in force but wasnt at the time the reminders were printed.
Another minor point - early in May, my 'S' and Royal Blue Mk1 tax reminders came in the same envelope, but the Valencia Mk2 came in its own seperate envelope. There obviously is some system in place to send out reminders to the same address in the same envelope, but some are still being sent out separately.
The DVLA could save a small fortune in postage costs if they could actually manage to send all the reminders for the same address in the same envelope!

Correct!.................well that what it did for me.

My MOT ran out on May 15th and tax end of Month. I renewed on the 20th so presume it automatically became MOT exempt.
