Now the proud owner of a 1975 2500 Mk2, and former owner of a
pre-facelift 72 2000 Mk2, and the experiences of my fathers\' 77 2500 TC
made me wonder about the changes that took place over the years.<br>
<br>
My car is a 2500 TC on the registration form, but \"2500\" on the front
badge, \"2500\" on the side badges (C pillars) and \"2500 Mk2\" on the rear
badge. I saw a near similar car, judging by the registration two monts
or so newer, which had the same badging.<br>
My fathers\' car (1977) had \"2500 TC\" on the front badge (I think, it
definitively was different that the badge on my car), \"TC\" on the
pillars and \"2500 TC\" on the rear badge. It also had fixed hand grabs
above the passenger doors whereas the 75 & 72 have swing-away
\"leather\" grabs. The 75 has (painted?) \"chrome\" rings on the outer
rings of the dials. The lettering near the heating levers are smaller. <br>
My 72 had rare orange rear driving lamps (normally white).<br>
The 72 has real carpet in the boot, the 75 and 77 is of cheaper
material. The 72 and 75 had a glass fuel pump with manual lever, the 77
had an alloy pump.<br>
The 72 had a nice single rear chrome -housed number plate light, the 75
and 77 have twin plastic lights. The 75 has a chrome strip in the rear
window rubber, I don\'t think/remember the 72 and the 77 had that.<br>
<br>
Not that it all matters much of course. I liked the looks of the 72
best with its metal grille, plain bumpers, chrome bezels on the dials.
Even better is the Mk1!<br>
