Thank you Ian, I checked that out and it is a home made engine oil cooler that may have been for a MK1. I spoke with Fitchetts and Witor this morning and they have nothing. It was only available on the MK1 automatic 2.5 pi and as an option, so extremely rare. However most of the Aussy and Kiwi cars that were auto had them fitted as standard.
Many thanks for helping out.
Pete

What was specific about a Mk1 PI auto transmission oil cooler that made it different from the 2000 and / or the Mk2 PI?
Why won't a Mk2 PI transmission oil cooler fit a Mk1 PI?
Just asking - curious really!

Hi, There is simply no room for the MK2 oil cooler (its bigger) as the bracket that is fabricated to the tubing itself is the wrong angle as well and it sits the tubing with the cooling fins up behind the nose cone. The MK1 is different on the brackets and allows the cooler to sit behind the grille and not foul the lower apron. Placing the MK2 cooler lower is not an option either due to the lower apron panel. The MK1 2000 will also fit, its the same cooler.
Hope this helps
