Does anyone have any spare door pillar side repeater lenses (or complete units) for the Mk1 or Mk2 saloon/estate please?
I am primarily after the flat type (not the later domed type).
Thanks

Re: Door pillar side repeaters
Rummaging in a box I found a pair of the later thinner flat ones at Stoneleigh. Think I paid £20.00 (unfortunately the seller knew what they were). These are now on the car so I can't sell them to you.
Stoneleigh is 21st February this year. If you're not going up this year I can have a look for you to see if I can find any more.

Gold dust!!!!!!!! especially drivers sides of all four types.

Is re-manufacture beyond realistic cost?

Re: Door pillar side repeaters
A few years ago Chris Witor asked (in SixAppeal I think) for those prepared to purchase remanufactured lenses to e-mail him. I recollect that it was the flat ones he was proposing to remanufacture. Due to the lack of interest that was as far as it got. Perhaps the time has come to encourage him to try again? I certainly would purchase a set for my Mk1. A poll on here might help, could someone set it up - it is beyond my capability.
Here's hoping,
Stuart

Re: Door pillar side repeaters
I emailed Chris last year about this and he replied "Tooling for lenses is over 12k, so we are looking at our options..."
As I haven't heard anything I assume it hasn't got any further. £12k does sound a lot, I'm not sure if that was all types and in both hands.
I was thinking about whether it would be possible to produce small batches by casting them in a silicone mould with resin.

Re: Door pillar side repeaters
It was something the late lamented Spares Group were looking into until it had to fold due to lack of support.
Yes Lee I know they are difficult to find ...... I am asking in case someone has any. Want them for the two Mk1s, thin type and/or thick type, are you selling yours?

Hi Ted,
Sadly I am not selling mine due to the rarity of them nowadays and I am only selling the ones to the guy who is near completetion of his MK1.
Plus the ones I have in good nick are the very early type.
Not tellinmg how to suck eggs but the base plates do differ between MK1 PFL /FL and the late MK1 / MK2
If desperate I may have some half decent ones somewhere but will have to fish them out.
