early or late? They have different plugs. The early ones connector to the loom are a rubber block, the later ones a white plastic affair.

Probably early then but you'll need to check the plug colour as Charles says.

I had a look and do have one early type, but the dip switch part doesn't work properly!

It's not an impossible job to swap the cable assembly (with the early plug) onto a switch that originally had the later plug.
However, John said he has plenty!
