Are MK1 and MK2 auto pedal boxes the same?
I have noticed tonight mine has a large amount of sidewards play,is the a bush kit to rebuild these for sale or is it a case of finding a good S/H item?

I believe auto pedal boxes for the Mk1 and Mk2 are the same but I think there was a difference between manual Mk1 and Mk2, where in the Mk2, the clutch pedal had a bend in it and the operation of the master cylinder pushrod was from a linked bracket rather than directly from the pedal itself.
However, Chris Witor does replacement pedal bushes which are the same across the range whether manual or auto -

Is that all I would need 2 of those bushes?
I wondered if it had some sort of fibre bush aswell, going to have a closer look at this over the weekend.

Assuming the cross shaft is not worn (which I think is unlikely) then yes. Once the pedal box is out they are very simple to dismantle with circlips at either end of the shaft.
Whilst you are doing the job it would be a good time to check that the large return spring between the brake pedal and the top of the the pedal box has not broken which is quite common.
