Brake drums
Can Mk2 brake drums be used on a Mk1? The dimensions seem identical. The only difference appears to be the additional holes to reach the self adjusters on the Mk2 drum.

Charles, I seem to remember in the dim & distant past (25+ years ago !!!) bolting two brake drums together back to back so I could drill the two holes you refer to in the correct place, so I think the answer to your question is yes you can!
