wire wheels 2500

#1 Post by Pete2500 » Sun Dec 24, 2017 6:16 pm

having owned my 2500 for 39 1/2 years , I am thinking of treating her to a set of wire wheels. I have tried one from a friends tr4a which is a 165 x80 x15 on a 4 1/2 rim but ideally I want a 5 1/2 rim with a 185x80x15 tyre, I have only ever seen 1 car with wire wheels apart from pictures of the Aussie MD , so has anybody any thoughts on this please, thanks in advance and Merry xmas to you all. Peter

There are wire wheel conversions for Stags, so I presume the procedure is the same?

I've had a little nosy at wires over the years, but as I still have a set of 6"x13" Cosmics not fitted,it may be a while yet!
I had wondered if the 15" Jaguar wires, which are readily available in sizes up to 7" width, would work.Surely if the centre splines are the same, the wheel would do....
Food for thought?
While I'm open here,Hope a great Christmas was had by all, and Everyone has the new year the are hoping for!
Cheers,
