Facelift P.I springs

#1 Post by sahtuning2000 » Fri Aug 07, 2015 8:17 pm

I recently renewed the P.I springs as the original are very soft and it went around corners like a boat.
So i replaced them with CW uprated standard height springs, problem is it looks to high now although its at a standard facelift height
How do i lower it slightly,i wanted to go for pre facelift springs but CW said i would have to replace the rear shackles, but on my facelift (P reg)TC i fitted lowerd springs and i don,t think it had much rear camber.

I'd leave them for a while. New springs will normally settle a bit.

Thanks i may well do that, what is the exact height from ground to wheel arches on a facelift car?
I,ve been advised not to fit lowered springs to a facelift car as it gives negative rear camber, but i did on my facelift TC looked o.k,its just the facelift height looks to high, maybe i should of gone for prefacelift springs....

23 inches to the top of wheel arch. I'm running 195x70x14's but don't think smaller one's would make much difference.

Hello sahtuning2000 I have a p reg 1976 facelift 2500 S and have fitted CW lowered fast road springs all round. I do know that I had to replace the rear shackles to correct camber, but don't forget if you go down this route, you would also need to change the diff mounts, too, to correct the prop shaft angle.

Also on the front, shorter ARB drop links are required, if you have an ARB fitted
