Man am I brassed off!
Following advice on well known 2000 tuning website - you\'ll all know the one - and a car magazine based on souped up classics - again you\'ll know the one, I decided to re-locate the battery on my Mk1 to the boot. Spent all day saturday relaying cables, fitting nifty hidden battery isolator switch. Now the flamin thing won\'t turn over. A word to my garage and they say it\'s cos of the current drop. THEY NEVER TELL YOU THAT IN THOSE <A>F@~N</A> ARTICLES! Apparently i now need a more powerful battery????? any suggestions or shall i rip out all my hard work, sell that bottomless money pit of a vehicle and buy a bus pass.<IMG><IMG>

Voltage drop is caused by resistance in the wires. I don\'t think a battery with greater capacity will help - it will still only be 12 volts.
<br>The longer the run of wire, the thicker it has to be to offset this effect. The ideal position for a battery is as close as possible to the component that draws the greatest current.
