Andy
Ken,had a look at the drawings. If you have to use the wiring with the relay coil,be aware that the majority of relays now have an internal diode across 85 and 86 terminals,so put the positive 12v. on to term 86,with neg onto term 85.
Hope things are picking up for you all, your'e not away yet, then??
Best of luck mate,
Bill.

Hi Bill

Have done that! the relays ive used dont have diodes on them. The diodes are from the coil triger wires with a zener at the end taken out the zener as said on the insruction sheet no joy. had a read of the extraefi forum and found that you can plug in to the saw lead from the edis and the rev counter worked   so thanks for that bit on the relays Bill . hope to be away by the end of feb even if the house is not sold will let you know and will contact you when ive an email over there thanks mate

Watch this space - I have an electrical engineer onto it - mine used diode pack off coil but rev counter died at 2400rpm - Nick Jones somehow fixed it - http://club.triumph.org.uk/uploads/coil ... d_9240.gif

That interface circuit looks good, but it might be an idea to put another resistor from the transistor base to 0V to help the base capacity charge to decay. It should give faster 'off' edges into the coil. Another 10k should do the trick!

Cheers,
Mike.

Hope this is OK here,

If anyone needs a trigger wheel then register your interest http://club.triumph.org.uk/cgi-bin/foru ... /s-7/#num7, the last batch were very good apparently. (no financial interest on my part)

It's all in the Blog
