are current price guides accurate in classic mags.seems to me they haven\'t altered any in last eight years or so.went to look at a 2.5pi saloon the other day genuine car 77k very nice car dealer asking 4595,didn\'t merit my 50k 3 owner 2000tc plus 2500quid.what is a realistic price for a vgc pi,2500s saloon.are estates worth more?

The prices in the press only reflect the cars that they have had advertised for sale in their publications. Hence, it may sometime not be an indicator of actual prices.
2500 S Estates command the highest prices, with MKII2.5pi\'s coming a close second.
Even so, £5k for a minter sounds far to high to me.
Having said that, a car is only worth what someone will pay for it.

cheers for that alan, thought it was a bit steep.interesting about 2500s estate,my brother bought one about 1year ago, good solid car but crying out for a respray,he\'s been whining about the cost and when done the car will stand him at @3000 but it would be nice one.he\'s been talking about counting his losses but now i\'ll tell him to get it booked in

any mint mk1 is worth money, top money, finding a top class mk1 is getting very, very hard now, theres not many real nice mk1s left,i must dis agree with alan about the 2.5s being so sought after,if you find a mint 2.5s and a mint 2000mk1,the mk1 will always get the money,a concours mk1 is £5000-6000,a lot of money but it should be a trophy winner,p.i is also very collectable, autos are the least collectable as far as i can tell,in any form,p.i.s,mk1/2the most collectable triumph 200 is a mint mk1 mod/or any form of concours p.i,in my eyes, but we are all a little biased!!!alan owns a 2.5s estate, and i own a mk1??????

How very true, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Having said that, the club recieves requests from people looking for top line cars. And most of them are for 2500 S Estates. Hence why I think they are more desirable.
But, you are right, excellent original MKI\'s aere getting very hard to find and when they do come up they command good money.

I am selling a \'72 2000 estate, with loads of good parts/mods.

Is there a for sale section? I am a club member, I cannot see it.
Thanks  Geoff
