Rimmers list the 4 cylinder and the six cylinder rocker arms as the same part number. I wonder if they are different. I don't have a four cylinder parts manual to check. I would have thought they are the same.

Hi Charles,
I imagine they are, is the 6 cyl a stretched version of the 4 cyl, just another pair of siamesed bores added on ? If so I don't see why they would have different rockers.
I used to have a 1500 fwd but apart from that I've never become familiar with the smaller engines.
Regarding the pushrods I'm replacing 2 only, this is not because of any excess wear though. When I was setting the clearances a few weeks ago I noticed on two valves I was running out of adjustment on the ball pin. I pulled out the pushrods and discovered that two of them were longer than the rest. When I rebuilt this engine,(about 1990),
I bought most of the parts from my local Austin Rover Unipart garage. I always stated year, model etc when ordering but at the time I was unaware of these differences and it seems that the parts man at Unipart can't have known any better either. Consequently the engine has ran with the wrong pushrods for about 50,000 miles now. As I'm now aware of it I might as well put it back together properly.
Michael.

Herald 13/60 Rocker No1 109023
Herald 13/60 Rocker No2 109024

Mk2 2000 Rocker No1 139896
Mk2 2000 Rocker No2 139897

But this might be comparing a 'Mk1' type with 'Mk2' type. I don't have a Mk1 2000 parts list, well I don't think I have!

Chris's site lists both types for the 2000 so I think the 109*** types are Mk1, and 139*** types Mk2.

Any help?

Cheers,
Mike.
