Re: Mk 2 Boot lock dismantling
This may be of help: I think you'll need to remove the lock key barrel section first. This has a long blade that inserts through the actual lock/ catch assembly. With it in place I doubt you'd be able to remove the catch. To remove the lock key barrel - there is a round locking ring on the inside o...

Re: Mk 2 Boot lock dismantling
David is right, My memory is slipping! It's been a while since I've had one apart. You could also helicoil the existing lock. Certainly could, but I would still be faced with the initial problem of dis-connecting the lock barrel shaft from the catch housing. Up to now I have not been able to discer...

Re: Mk 2 Boot lock dismantling
Which part to you want to dismantle ? There's a C clip behind the outer lock which you'll see when you remove the carpet strip behind the tail lights. the inner lock just unbolts. Mk 2 Boot lock dismantling
Hello,
It is probably 20 years since I last dismantled a boot lock and I am presently unable to fathom out the dismantling method. Could someone kindly let me have a descriptive step by step?
regards,
Kev

Re: Club Tooling Fund
Mike, I am starting this discussion, because of the difficulty that Alan is having in sourcing a part for DEL33, I have posted this on the CT Forum too (apologies, but its where I had the idea) We need to start looking long term with all these cars. How about a "tooling fund" like the SOC and TR own...

Re: New Battery
[quote="Mike Stevens"]Over the Christmas period the battery in the PI decided to finally give up the ghost. Even after a charge it would only crank the engine for a few seconds before giving up again. I spent some time deciding on a new battery type, looking at 069, 071, 072 types. in the end I got ...
